The "Verity mod" people search for began as a fictional prop in ThatMob's horror videos — it was never a real file. Since mid-June 2026, however, three real adaptations have been published, including one officially licensed by ThatMob. This page lists every version, what it requires, and where to download it safely.

All three bring the same core idea into the game: Verity spawns as a friendly yellow companion you can talk to — on Bedrock you summon it by typing Hey Verity in chat — and its personality degrades through four phases the longer your world survives.

What the Verity mod actually adds

Whichever version you install, the core loop is the same — and it's faithful to the series. Verity arrives early in a new world (in the Bedrock add-ons it emerges from an animated chest; Verity JE stages its own arrival), then attaches itself to your game as a talking companion. You can call it with Hey Verity, ask questions, and get help — coordinates, directions, small favors — while it quietly tracks how long your world has survived.

That timer is the real mechanic. Across roughly six in-game days, Verity moves through the four personality phases described in our lore guide: helpful, uncanny, sinister, hostile. Expect scripted scares in the later phases — unnatural darkness, appearances you didn't summon, and eventually the Verity Demon hunt that ends the arc. It is a horror experience first and a utility companion second; play it in a world you don't mind sacrificing to the bit.

Requirements: Bedrock & Java

• Bedrock add-ons need a current Minecraft Bedrock version — 1.26.30 or newer (we tested on 1.26.33) — and the Beta APIs experiment enabled on your world. They work on mobile, console, and Windows. See the step-by-step Bedrock install guide.

How to download Verity safely

Only download from the official CurseForge and MCPEDL pages linked above. Verity's popularity has made it a magnet for copycat file sites, and the character's whole premise — "a mysterious mod someone sends you" — is exactly the kind of file you should not grab from an unmoderated source. We never host or re-upload mod files; every link on this site points to the author's own page.

Which version should you choose?

Short version: on a phone, tablet, or console, pick one of the Bedrock add-ons — PnTMC's is the most popular and tracks the series most closely.
